Toufic Hakim, PH.D.

Toufic has served higher education for twenty-two years as a professor and senior manager at Jacksonville University, University of North Florida, The College of New Jersey, and Kean University.  He has also held leadership positions for national nonprofit organizations in the Washington DC area, including President of the Council on Undergraduate Research and Executive Officer of the American Association of Physics Teachers. His work in education was honored by the Florida Carnegie Professor of the Year award and the prestigious American Council on Education Fellowship.

Toufic has led the planning and development of hundreds of competitive grant proposals and secured tens of millions of dollars in external private and governmental funding for his own projects and institutional programs in academic research, curricular development, educational outreach and community enhancement.

Toufic holds a Ph.D. in Physics and M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware, and an undergraduate degree in Physics from the Lebanese University, which granted him its highest scholarship award.  He is fluent in English, French and Arabic, and is learning Spanish intensively.
